Blog Log #4- Couponing!!!

CNY’s Extreme Couponing

Although her URL is slightly… unsightly (you’ll see)…  what a great resource for couponers, both beginners and those that could be featured on television, living in Central NY!  When we say Central NY to people outside of upstate, they tend to think like central Manhattan… bahaha!  Not quite.  Central NY as in Central NYS.  ANYWAY, this blog is just as good as some of the big ones-,, etc.- but she features local stores.  And, she’s a local gal just doing her blog thang, so I love supporting that.

The Shortest Tallman blog- Blog Log #4: Couponing!!!

Now, I’m no expert, but I was somewhat into couponing a couple years back, now I’m going to attempt to get back into it.  It is a bit overwhelming for a beginner, but with Jessica’s website, you can start to snag some deals pretty quickly.  If I were to sum up “extreme” couponing in one sentence- your goal is to watch flyers for sales, and pair them up with coupons to get the most bang for your buck.  The idea is that you hang on to your coupons for when prices are lower to begin with; pair store coupons with manufacturer’s coupons (where permissible, which is most places); and, utilize stores that will double coupons (locally, only Price Chopper does this, as far as I know- they’ll double any coupon up to 99 cents, although they will occasionally offer dollar doubler coupons to use with coupons… whee! Yup it gets a bit complicated LOL).  Now, where Jessica’s CNY Extreme Couponing blog comes in handy is that she features local stores’ coupon matchups that I care about.  Some of these big couponing bloggers feature stores we don’t have in CNY, so therefore it’s totally useless (apart from looking at their tips or big box store deals).  The work that Jessica must put into her blog- typing up all deals for several local and big box stores, and matching it up with coupons from both flyers, printables, and e-coupons- holy guacamole.  That’s a lot of work.  I am so thankful she is happy to share with us 🙂

PS my headband is from  Feel free to buy me anything ever from that store.

Whoops!  I had misspelled Jessica’s blog name.  The X in her logo is exaggerated and threw me off!  It’s all fixed now 🙂
