Hands Free Life Book Club Intro

Sharing is caring!

Hi everyone! ***Crazy idea alert***

I’ve been simmering on this idea for a while, and I just feel compelled to go with it, and I sure do hope you’ll join me!

If you’ve poked around my blog, you’d know that I am a huge fan of Rachel Macy Stafford’s Hands Free Revolution (which is what she named her FB page). I read Hands Free Mama a couple of years ago, and I recently purchased a copy of Hands Free Life, her second book.

Ways I would describe reading Hands Free Life (which pretty much are exactly how I felt about reading Hands Free Mama): life changing; transcending; illuminating; easy; meaningful; eye-opening; a MUST read.

Hands Free Mama had the same effect on me. HFM was such an eye-opener for me, that I gifted it to a few friends. For no particular reason. Because maybe Rachel’s words would have a similar effect on them, too.

So anyway, Hands Free Life (HFL) has had a huge impact on me. Stafford’s words really make me think about what matters in life and what I can do ensure I’m living my life fully. She is very honest and real, which I appreciate.

Look, I get it- this sounds very frou-frou. You might be thinking, who does she think she is, I don’t need this, I’m fine and my kids are fine. You are almost certainly right. But, do you ever feel like you’re on a hamster wheel? Do you feel like you might be a bit colder/shorter/stressed/checked out than you’d like? Do you feel like you have it all, but maybe you’re going through the motions? I felt -and feel- all of these things. I was losing my patience way too fast/much with the people I cared about most. Yes, to some degree that comes with the territory of working and having kids, but when you read HFM or HFL and learn about Rachel’s journey, you see that maybe, just maybe, you can improve things for yourself, too. She really delivers on the subtitle: “9 Habits for overcoming distraction, living better, & loving more.”

There’s a couple of things I wanted to mention. Being on a Hands Free journey is all about today, choosing to focus on today. Because, today is all you know for sure you have. I just wanted to mention that, because a big part of Rachel’s journey (and absolutely most definitely mine as well!!!) was about letting go of past mistakes and not beating yourself up over it. And, I also want to mention, that yes, this Hands Free thing is about not being attached to your phone, but it’s so much more than that. It’s all about living life fully, really feeling content in your life and connected with the MVPs of your life. I wish my own words were as inspiration as Rachel’s! I’m just going to let her magic work itself!

So, here’s my plan. I want to start a blog series that will go for 9 months, running from October 2016-June 2017. I want to explore one chapter from Hands Free Life each month, and then reflect on it, on my blog. I want to interact with you and hear about your story, too, if you’re willing. No, I am not qualified for any of this! I’m relatively new on my Hands Free Jouney as well. But I honestly feel so moved by reading her books, I feel compelled to do this. So, this is essentially an e-book club! We’ll move really slow through the book, focusing on each chapter at a time, for depth. So each month, you’re responsible for reading app. 20 pages only!!!! Of course, feel free to read ahead, do whatever you want. I’m hoping that by going slowly through it as a group might help us all in our journey living more Hands Free (I know it sounds cheesy! but listen, I’m telling you it’s great stuff!!).

Who is this for? I suppose it is most ideal for moms and dads of kids still living at home. But certainly, anyone could get a lot out of this book, I really believe that. Anyone feeling like they are going through the motions, that stress takes over too often, that they are often managing life instead of living life- anyone feeling like they can check off as having accomplished much of what makes a happy life, but maybe when you dig down, you aren’t actually walking around feeling as content as it looks like you should on paper. (Which, is an awful lot of people, don’t you think? It certainly was me, and is me still, far too often.)

I’m going to start Chapter 1 on October 3, 2016. My plan is the first Monday of each month. You can stop by whenever, but that’s when I am planning on posting the next reflection. So you’ve got until then to get your hands on a copy! I bought mine for about $10 on Amazon. You can buy the ebook as well.

Not familiar with Rachel Macy Stafford? OR, are you unsure if this is worth your time? Check out these posts from her blog to get a gist of what you’d be in for (for some reason the first link is just a link and isn’t a pretty box with an image):

About Hands Free

So, even if you’re thinking maybe, but you’re not sure, join in. It’s not like anyone knows you’re following if you don’t comment 🙂 🙂 🙂 Google analytics only tells me how many, not who! hahaha. This might be an epic fail, it’s not like I’ve ever done anything like this before, but maybe it will also be a great experience and improve your life. I feel confident because, as you will see, Rachel’s words speak for themselves, and I’m just gonna be here like, hey, how about XYZ from this chapter, this is what I took, what do you think? So, easy-going, no stress, minimal work with maximum benefit to your life and those you care about most.

Again, just to reiterate: I’d like to start a Hands Free Life e-book club. If you are interested, get yourself a copy of Hands Free Life by Rachel Macy Stafford, and tune in the first Monday of each month, starting October 3rd. We will talk about the Intro and Chapter 1 on October 3rd; chapter 2 in November; etc.

Questions? You can comment, private message my FB page, or email me at my blog.

Hope to see you there!

All the other hyperlinks are just straight up hyperlinks, not affiliate links of any kind. Hey, if a little extra money could be thrown my way, great, but I want you all to know that I am doing this HFL e-book club because I just want to be a part of the Hands Free Revolution!
