Hi everyone! Things have been pretty busy around here, I’m sure for you, too. With our usual activities, which is a decent amount, a husband that works a lot, and holidays coming up- it adds up to a full plate, but full of all good things.
I am one of those nerds who likes to setup my dining room table early for Thanksgiving. I can because we have a separate dining room that we don’t usually eat in, and we have a small crowd for the big meal. Just my parents, plus us. So it’s very doable!

Get a load of this table cloth!!! It’s so great!
I set the table with a hand-me-down tablecloth, set on a hand-me-down table. We use our fine(ish) china on Thanksgiving, and I usually pull out my napkin rings and real napkins. Sure, it’s more work, but it looks nice and makes me happy. I usually want everything to match, but I couldn’t find all my yellow napkins. Then I realized, if I use a variety of napkins, that might look nice. And I’m happy with it.
Then I thought, what about some little craft?? Something Tiny Tallman and I could make.
I had been saving egg cartons to do crafts with (I know. That’s an eye roller if I’ve ever read one.), so I did a quick google image search for ideas, and voila! We made some easy egg carton turkeys. There’s lots of iterations of this online; I just used the supplies I had on hand.

I can’t stand how cute this is. First, we painted the turkey bodies.

You don’t have to paint the egg cartons since they’re kind of the right color to begin with, but I thought painting might be fun.

OF COURSE I would have these on hand.

My craft bin. In it, you will find a smattering of things! Googly eyes, colored popsicle sticks, ribbon, glue gun/sticks, paints, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera! I am known to buy craft supplies at the dollar tree, if I see something that I think I might use someday.

Tiny Tallman’s avant garde arrangement of sticks/”feathers.”

My supervised arrangement of sticks. We just used Elmer’s school glue to assemble these, then I hot glued them onto the back of the turkey bodies.

Googly eyes! I’m actually running low, I need to replenish after this project π

I mean, come on.

Profile. lol

Turkey butt.

Now each place setting has a sweet little turkey! Β π
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I will be posting my first ever vlog (i.e. video!!!) post on Thanksgiving Day, so you’ve got that little gem to look forward to π
