About Me
My name is Maggie, I am theshortesttallman.com. I am a mother of 3 and a wife of 1. I was turned onto blogging- and now podcasting!- when I felt I had more to say than what Facebook is intended for. Here, I will share my story: trials and tribulations of parenthood, home management, and various interests of mine like crafty DIY’s and recipes. I am desperately trying to keep balance while trying to fit it all in! I never considered myself a writer, nor a blogger, but if I blog, then I am a blogger 🙂
Sometimes I might write about favorite products I use, and on occasion I’ll provide a link to my affiliate page on Amazon. If you click on that link and decide to purchase from that link, I’ll get a little money from Amazon, at no cost to you! Just wanted to let you know. I do always write a disclaimer on any post that has an affiliate link within it, but just in case, I wanted to also mention it here, too. Also, I might write an honest review for a product or service I received in exchange for writing about it- I will disclose that within the post, and I will give you my true opinion! Even for the products that I might receive a commission for, I am personally recommending it and I would never promote something on my blog that I didn’t believe in! Of course, my blog is my own personal opinions and don’t reflect any 3rd party. I promise to be honest! I have so much fun doing this blog and I invest a lot of my own resources into it, so I only use my ads and participate in an affiliate program to support this fun passion.
Here are some facts about me:
- I am the Shortest Tallman, because I married a Tallman who is 18” taller than me. I clock in at about 5’ nothing 🙂
- I have 3 littles: Little Tallman, Littler Tallman, and Tiny Tallman.
- Although #firstworldproblems get me down sometimes like anyone else, I often compare my life to the final scene in Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory: “But Charlie, don’t forget what happened to the man who suddenly got everything he always wanted.” “What happened?” “He lived happily ever after.”
- I am a major movie quoter. “Billy Idol gets it, I don’t know why she doesn’t get it.” (The Wedding Singer, obviously!)
- I am very close with all my siblings-in-law. One of my SIL’s was my BFF growing up! We married two crazy brothers! I am her kids’ AUNT! That’s just awesome, sorrynotsorry.
- I’m a Catholic girl! If you look real hard, you might find me sneaking away here and there to say a rosary. I find it to be a very powerful meditation.
- I was a music teacher for ten years in an urban district; I pressed pause on my career so I could follow my dream of being a SAHM <3 I still keep my hands in music ed by working as a Kindermusik educator and teaching voice lessons.
- The Tallest Tallman, aka my DH (aka my husband LOL), is a perfect life partner for me and we are totes in love. For realz.
- Our three favorite places are Boston, Mass.; Myrtle Beach, SC; and Disney World.
- Alice in Wonderland is an obsession of mine.
- I’ve always been an Accomplisher and tried to Seize the Day AMAP. That’s short for As Much As Possible, because I was trying to save time by using an acronym.
- I generally hate acronyms. Why did I just make one up?
- I try really hard to LIVE and love: This has been inspired by observing people in my life early on that were in The Waiting Place from “Oh, The Places You’ll Go” by Dr. Seuss. I can’t stress that enough- life is for the living! Live and Love as much as you can before it’s all over.
- I will (jokingly) call you a communist if you don’t agree that Disney World is the happiest place on earth, if you order the weird Girl Scout cookies, or if you don’t eat at least 3 meals a day. These people that “forget” to eat… I don’t understand them. (Tallest Tallman is one of them.)
- I am a classically trained soprano. I still putz around practicing and learning new pieces, and my kids would easily characterize my singing as loud and annoying. My thinking is that when I’m long gone they will have lovely memories of their mother singing, and I’m just going to go with that.
- I LOVE blogging. I am always trying to improve and reach more readers, because the more, the merrier! Want to try out your hand at blogging and write a guest post on TST? Let’s talk!
Thanks for stopping by!
Maggie
